(Port)Wine of the month March 2015: Quinta do Crasto - Vinha Maria Teresa 2005
The Maria Teresa plot received its name from the first gand daughter of the great-grandfather of Miguel and Thomas Roquette, the present owners of Quinta do Crasto. First produced in 1998, Maria Teresa never fails to impress. Not being the big, tannin-concentrated beast, Maria Teresa always shows a perfect balance and finesse in every year of its production (1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011).
Transparent dark red colour. The nose reveals cedar wood, vanilla, cocos and tobacco, elegant, but complex. Balanced and complex on the palate the Maria Theresa 2005 showes an incredible freshness, black cherries and some minty notes. Long and complex in the aftertaste. 18
